Hi everyone,

I’m sharing a maintenance release of ProPortal, a classic portal module for MyBB.
This is not a brand-new plugin from scratch. It’s an updated package so ProPortal can run more reliably on MyBB 1.8.x and PHP 8.0+.

What is ProPortal?
ProPortal is a portal module (not only a file under

[i]inc/plugins[/i]

). It focuses on features many communities still want on a forum homepage:

- Block system — left / center / right zones
- PHP-powered blocks — drop in

- Custom HTML blocks
- Page management — extra portal pages
- Column & display settings
- Newsticker (Breaking News) — modes, forum IDs, on/off, timing, pause on hover
- getnew / getdaily-style blocks — styled like other portal blocks
- Responsive-oriented layout CSS (side columns stack on smaller screens)
- Admin "Pro Portal" panel — blocks, pages, settings, info/credits

Requirements

MyBB 1.8.x
PHP 8.0+ recommended
After install: delete or rename portal/install/

Installation (short)

Backup your board and database.
Upload the contents of Upload/ to your forum root.
Run the ProPortal installer if this is a new install.
Remove portal/install/.
Configure blocks & settings under Admin CP → Pro Portal.
More detail is in Read Me.html and Pro Portal → Portal Info.

Honest Limitations
Please read this before running it on a live board:

This is a maintenance release, not a formal security audit.
It is not a 1:1 replacement for every portal plugin on the community.
Boards with old portal templates may need template tweaks for the full flex layout (CSS fallback still helps).
The old ProMyBB “Latest News” feed may be empty if that feed is offline.
Custom PHP blocks are powerful — only for trusted admins.
Responsive behaviour also depends on your theme.
