Welcome Landing gives your private or member-only MyBB community a customizable front door: a standalone welcome page with full-screen backgrounds and a convenient login window.

Features include:

Standalone welcome page at misc.php?action=welcome.
Login using MyBB’s native validation, CAPTCHA and session handling.
Optional guest redirects from the forum index and protected forum pages.
Safe return to the intended forum page after login.
Password-recovery access.
Your own full-screen background images, with four selection modes:
- Shuffle: shows every matching image before reshuffling.
- Random: picks independently on every visit; repeats are possible.
- Sequential: follows filename order, then starts again.
- Daily: shows everyone the same image for the forum’s day.
Automatic image-cache refresh when a replacement’s modification time or file size changes.
Background Image Status in Admin CP, with clear warnings and a link to check a sample image.
Save and stay to save settings and review refreshed diagnostics without leaving the page.
Language files for public-facing and Admin CP text.
Editable Global Templates for landing-page markup.

The landing page intentionally stands apart from your forum’s normal header and footer. Customize its wording, templates and background images without editing MyBB core. MyBB remains responsible for authentication and permissions; guest redirects do not replace forum access controls.

Installing or upgrading? Follow README.md for a fresh installation or UPGRADE.md before replacing existing files. Both are included in the download, along with compatibility notes. Do not uninstall to upgrade.
